December 5, 2013

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I sure did. I got to spend the day eating good food with my fabulous family. My dad joined my mom, sister, and I for Thanksgiving dinner, which he has done almost every year, even though my parents have been divorced since I was in middle school. How lucky I am to have parents like that...

Anyways, I worked all but one day during my break. It's safe to say I actually enjoyed myself, considering I left this summer never wanting to go back. There were a lot of new faces that welcomed me, which always takes a little to get used to. However, my coworkers that I have worked with going on three years, were there with warm welcomes and big hugs - nothing is sweeter. One of my former coworkers stopped in with her then 6 day old newborn baby... so precious! All in all, work was great.

Coming back to school was bittersweet. I have had such an amazing semester and I am sad to see it end so soon, but excited and relieved that I will have an entire month off (before starting the most painful semester of my college career next semester). I have maintained straight A's this entire semester, but finals could change that - but fingers crossed I can achieve my goal of straight A's!

Speaking of finals, just a reminder that finals are not the end-all, be-all. Do your best and give it your all, but remember to take a breath, enjoy a christmas movie, spend time with friends. Don't let finals consume you. For that matter, don't ever let academics consume you. My biggest pet peeve in people is when they put all their attention into schoolwork and forget to take a break and spend time with important people. College is only a part of life. Breathe.

And finally, if I am not back on here during winter break, I hope you all enjoy a much deserved break and quality time with family and friends. Don't eat too much, because we all know no one goes to the gym over break... and I don't want a crowded gym when I come back to school!

xx
